Overview
In mid-19th century, an American civilian merchant ship from Swatow, China passed through Taiwan Strait accidentally drifted to Vele Rete rocks and hit a reef. 14 crew members land on the coast of Kenting, Hengchun. They accidentally entered the aboriginal territory and was attacked. Only one crew member survived and ran to Takao, brought the incident to the light.
