A documentary produced and directed by historian Sam Ashworth. Robert McCloskey: The Life For Me chronicles the career of author/illustrator Robert McCloskey and his unique approach to storytelling for children. The film follows McCloskey from his hometown Hamilton, Ohio to his island home in Maine, highlighting the art and words of his award-winning books. Rarely seen sketches and drawings demonstrate McCloskey's creative process for which he was awarded Caldecott Medals for 'Make Way for Ducklings' and 'Time of Wonder'. Produced for Heritage Hall in 2014 to commemorate the Centennial of Robert McCloskey's birth, the documentary features photographs, film, audio recordings, interviews and an original musical score by John Paul Stanberry, Hamilton Fairfield Symphony Orchestra Music Director, recorded by the Orchestra.
