Overview

Jorge “Gigante” González was the tallest Argentine basketball player in history and the first to reach the NBA. A traveler discovered it by chance in his town. He was 56 and measured 2.31 meters. The Atlanta Hawks signed him in 1988, although overweight problems did not allow him to debut. His formidable appearance opened other doors for him: he stood out as a WWE wrestler in the United States, he acted in Baywatch with Pamela Anderson, he was an idol, he earned a lot of money and toured the world; But his health and excesses worked against him: he suffered diabetes and acromegaly, he spent his last days bedridden and died at only 44 years old.
