"jongo"
Tambores de Arrozal is a documentary created by a group of documentary filmmakers from Rio, produced by Produzcultura, directed by Carlos Junior and executive produced by Eufrate Almeida, which reports on the culture of Jongo. Tradition rooted in the Rice people, a large part of whom are descendants of African peoples, brought as captives for agriculture in the region known as Vale do Café. With the aim of recognizing the significance of the jongo practitioners of Rice Valley, as protagonists of their history, the documentary focused on on the content, with narrative and formation of jongo circles, in cinematographic shots, to immortalize in digital recording, the resistance of the cultural practices of their ancestors, in cultivating their roots and encouraging new generations, to continue the jongo culture , as a historical heritage of the region.
