Overview
I interviewed my classmates about their fathers. Their testimonies (which can be heard in the introduction) led to the creation of the "universal father," that is, a father who would speak to everyone a little bit. I used cut-out paper animation because I wanted to highlight the contrast between the comical aspect of the song and its childlike universe and the (harsher) criticisms of fathers in the testimonials. I was inspired by Michel Gondry's music videos and Lisa Kenney's "Mums Spaghetti."
