Overview
In the midst of the first wave of COVID-19, Estonia experiences a "chicken boom," as city dwellers turn to backyard farming, growing vegetables and raising chickens. This observational documentary explores the lives of three individuals and their unique relationships with their chickens. Veronika, a choreographer, embraces her role as "The Chicken Queen," using her birds for art projects and encouraging neighbors to follow suit. Anthropologist Tanel views his chickens as companions, teaching them tricks and analyzing their social hierarchies. Meanwhile, Mindi treats her chickens as best friends, sharing intimate moments and even learning their language.
