Overview
Ten years after the legendary »Dialogue« project in the Jewish Museum in 1999, from which the production »Körper« emerged, Sasha Waltz dedicated yet another great work to a significant new museum building in Berlin: The New Museum on the Museum Island. The building found itself at a particular moment of transition after almost 10 years of reconstruction under the direction of David Chipperfield Architects. Directly after the constructional completion of the building and before the exhibits from the Egyptian Museum, the Papyrus Collection and the Museum of Prehistory and Early History moved into the renovated rooms, it facilitated a temporary »exhibition«: With 70 dancers, musicians and singers Sasha Waltz explored the still empty rooms of the multilayered building and artistically inaugurated the Museum with the project »Dialoge 09 – Neues Museum«, whereby the audience could move freely through the rooms.
