Overview
Thousands of Greek Cypriots and Turkish Cypriots were killed during violence and conflict in the 1960s and 1970s – many of them have never been found. President Jimmy Carter, Archbishop Desmond Tutu and Minister Lakhdar Brahimi from “The Elders Foundation” visit the island in an attempt to help with the reconciliation of the two sides through the issue of the missing.
