Overview
After 2 seasons of archaeological field work, the team of Gwaii Haanas staff, Parks Canada archaeologists, and Haida Gwaii Museum experts returned to SG̱ang Gwaay in 2023. What started as a response to storm damage has now grown in scope. Cultural belongings being recovered from the storm damage are giving us a glimpse into the ancestral lifeways on SG̱ang Gwaay, allowing team members to build upon their personal connections with the spirit of place in this Haida Village.
