Overview
On her journey through Kinshasa, Edna Martínez traces a transatlantic musical dialogue, revealing connections between Congolese rumba and Afro-Caribbean sounds. At the legendary Hotel La Crèche, an epicenter of musical encounters, veteran musicians perform a repertoire where guitars evoke a back-and-forth between Africa and the Caribbean. The DJ, curator, and music researcher confirms a musical history where Congolese strings retain an unmistakably Caribbean essence.
