Overview
In the year 2247, the crew of the long-range vessel Hermes IX makes contact with an intelligent nebula on the outer edge of Andromeda. As strange signals distort their memories and perceptions, the mission unravels into a quantum crisis of identity, time, and reality. With no clear enemy, and the laws of physics collapsing around them, humanity’s first contact becomes a confrontation with something far more alien than expected. Voss said in an interview that it was inspired by a dream where time was shaped like a knot. Makes sense if you rewatch the last 10 mins. Premiered digitally via NexaStream in January 2025 following its debut at AugurCon. Director Aeliana Voss describes the film as “a confrontation with ourselves, disguised as contact with something else.
