Overview
Dr. Michael Swango may well be the most prolific serial killer of our time but he was initially imprisoned on fraud charges whilst the FBI searched for more evidence to charge him with murder. In this investigative report we reveal why the FBI was desperate to bring charges against Swango before he could win his freedom. Documenting the trail of death that followed him since medical school, we see how he was convicted of aggravated battery after poisoning co-workers in Illinois and explore the series of troubling incidents that led the hospital at Ohio State to launch an internal investigation into his behaviour (without telling the police). Hear from agents examining the five deaths at a New York hospital that finally brought his case to the FBI's attention, as well as Zimbabwean officials who suspect Swango of murdering patients at a remote hospital in that country where he once worked.
