Overview
Like many places, sex work may be one of the only avenues for a woman in the Philippines to make money. Although officially illegal, prostitution is overlooked by the state... Sex tourism is one of the countries' biggest economic pillars. White men from Europe, US, Australia and Canada flock to cities like Angeles in search of sex. They impregnate women, leaving them behind with little to no way of sustaining themselves. In addition, mothers and their children are often ostracized by their communities and the wider Catholic society. With the help of Paulo Fuller of the Recovery Empowerment Networking and Employment for Women Foundation (RENEW), Marie and her daughter Grace travel to Switzerland to find the dad, Patrick.
