Kindred Roots (La Sangre Llama) follows the journey of Zapotec migrants from a small town in San Bartolomé Zoogocho, Oaxaca, Mexico. With a collective dream to improve and modernize their hometown, they assembled a community in a land far from home. In their efforts to realize this goal, they established the hometown association within the Union Social Zoogochense (USZ), which connected their cultural roots through community and replicated a sense of belonging in Los Angeles.
