The bridge is one of the first job-creation schemes of the Nazi regime. It’s a massive structure that captures the basic meaning of the Hamburg harbour. It is only because of its overpowering size that the bridge managed to survive the wear and tear of the decades and the second world war. But, like all things, its time has come to an end. The bridge is to be replaced – completely. A film that highlights the history of the old bridge: the Nazi construction, the demolition, the reconstruction, the add-ons and the maintenance
