Overview
The Chukker: Nation of Misfits is a short documentary that tells the story of the famed Tuscaloosa, Alabama establishment, The Chukker, from its conception in 1956 to the building’s condemnation in 2007. In the 70s, the establishment transforms from café to bar and became a unique beacon of acceptance that fostered and protected everyone from “normal folk” to drag queens, hippies, and bikers.
