An essay film utilising excerpts from The Work of Kew (c. 1980), sourced from the London Screen Archive showcasing the diverse plant life and vast grounds of Kew Botanical Gardens companied by a newly commissioned audio essay by ethnobotanist Jonn Gale, re-contextualising the footage by drawing on their own personal experiences and research into human-plant relationships as well as by offering meditations on the colonial legacies of such institutions, their hidden histories and how imperial logics can be disrupted through contemporary intervention.
