Overview
Poetry, modern dance, survival! Southern Son Shine centers Black gay men living with HIV through Southern storytelling, art, and ancestral memory. The film reframes the South as a place of survival, softness, and becoming, where faith, masculinity, queerness, and healing intersect. Through intimate reflection and creative expression, Southern Son Shine honors lived experience as cultural testimony, illuminating joy, resilience, and the enduring light found when Black Southern stories are told with truth and care.
