Overview
A film which tells the story of Captain Francisco de Cuéllar of the Spanish Armada, shipwrecked at Streedagh Beach in Sligo in September 1588 and his incredible escape to freedom. Having spent 7 months in Ireland hiding from the English forces sent to capture him, he finds danger at every turn as well as acts of friendship in the most unlikely of places. Upon his escape, he writes a lengthy account of his time in Ireland, the contents of this letter form the basis for this film.
