Moment of Silence is the prologue to Hymns for Animatronic Dinosaurs, a collection of electroacoustic apocalyptic hymns focused on a speculative judgment day for technology. The project brings analog and digital processes into dialogue with sonic gestures drawn from Western religiosity, with works named for solar and geomagnetic disturbances to technological systems across time (Bastille, Carrington, Laschamp, Miyake) while anticipating a solar event capable of collapsing global technological infrastructure once and for all. Moment of Silence serves as the prelude to this doomsday narrative, where building tape loops are accompanied by rising electronic tones produced from an inputless mixer feeding back into itself, producing an organic, unstable signal. The pure sounds of self-perpetuating electronics chirp into life like archosaurian infants emerging from their nests, unaware of the ineffable doom that awaits them in the cosmos above.
