Overview
On September 11, 2001, 343 New York City firefighters died in the terrorist attack on the World Trade Center. The bravest of the brave; they were fathers, sons, brothers, and husbands. From the Ground Up: 10 Years after 9/11 five widows of New York firefighters pay tribute to their husbands by accomplishing extraordinary feats in their communitiesis the story of their widows. This film captures the resilience, courage, and indomitable human spirit embodied by these regular people who have survived extraordinary loss. Empowered by the tragedy, the women give new meaning to their lives by building a library and other charitable acts.
