On August 4, 2020, 2,750 tonnes of ammonium nitrate exploded in the Port of Beirut, killing more than 235 people and devastating a third of the Lebanese capital. How could such a tragedy have happened? While the judicial investigation remains obstructed, journalists, researchers, and ordinary citizens have conducted their own independent investigation to reconstruct the events and break the silence. For the first time, this documentary brings together their findings. By retracing the chain of events, it follows the arrival of the ammonium nitrate in Beirut, sheds light on those responsible and the numerous warnings ignored by the authorities, and examines the mechanisms of impunity that continue to prevail. A film driven by the pursuit of truth and the refusal to let memory fade.
