Overview
“Turning the Page” is a short, flat-style animation with a gentle atmosphere that delicately portrays a child’s journey from anger to acceptance in the face of his parents’ separation. Sam, age 8, sits in the living room of his childhood home, bathed in a bluish, nocturnal light. Around him, boxes are piled high, and family photos still hang on the walls but are starting to fall off. Then he walks toward us and physically turns the page. He falls, then gets back up in a new setting: his new home. In a warm, calm, and soothing atmosphere, he walks forward and sits contemplatively in front of his new home.
