Overview
NASA documentary on the Apollo 9 mission of March 1969, the first crewed flight of the Lunar Module. James McDivitt, David Scott and Russell Schweickart spent ten days in Earth orbit testing the LM "Spider" and the Command Module "Gumdrop", performing the first crewed docking and extraction of the lunar module and an EVA test of the Apollo spacesuit and portable life support system, proving the hardware needed for a lunar landing.
