Like fire concealed in ashes
0.0/10
Overview
A woven fiction of jittering bodies and limbs conspiring to avenge their mothers and to re-assemble themselves through care and tender gestures. “Like a fire concealed in ashes” is a moving collage of personal and collective memories relating to power, mourning and inherited imagery. A film that subverts the story of women’s bodies as unsolvable problems in the eye of patriarchal systems. Through the film its protagonists are utilising cartomancy, touch and intimate exchanges to express a somatic resistance.
