Overview
For a long time motorsport - in particularly the sport of Drifting - was male dominated. But in 2018, that all changed. A group of women wanted to disrupt the norm and bring some ‘buns to the sausage fest’, thus the Glitter Gang was born. The Glitter Gang Crew became Australia’s first, and South Australia’s only all-female drifting club. It helps empower and support other females wanting to break into the sport, or have some fun on the track. The original six dedicated women since then have championed many other South Australian females to burn rubber, compete in events both here and interstate, but above all create friendships and unforgettable experiences. Despite their minority status, Australia’s first all-female drift racing team no longer want to take a back seat to their male counterparts. Smoking their tyres on raceways across South Australia, these chicks risk life and limb for the thrill of the ride as well as the drive for gender equality.
