Overview
Chen Xiuying runs a teahouse with her mother. When Shi Lun, the son of Taiyuan commander Shi Xulong, attempts to force her into marriage, her mother drives him away. Xiuying falls in love with Kuang Zhong, an upright young officer who wins her hand by drawing her late father’s iron bow and proving his martial prowess. Jealous, Shi Lun and his father frame Kuang Zhong, sending him into exile. After killing Shi Lun in self-defense, Xiuying disguises herself as a man, flees with her mother, and leads a rebellion against Taiyuan, ultimately defeating Shi Xulong and reuniting with Kuang Zhong.
