Overview

Joan Margarit recites, with his characteristic passion, “El poema i el mur” from *Animal de bosc*, his final poetry collection, published posthumously in May 2021. The poem captures his two great passions: poetry and architecture. In this documentary, dry-stone walls and caves become metaphors for his poetic craft. One of Spain’s most widely read poets, Margarit created beauty and truth in both Catalan and Spanish, embracing a daring yet successful path. His wife, children, friends, scholars and admirers complete the portrait, including poets Luis García Montero, Pere Rovira and Raquel Lanseros, and literary scholars José Carlos Mainer and Jordi Gracia, who recite his poems. Musician Manolo García, actress Mercedes Sampietro and Congress President Meritxell Batet share their admiration. Music, another of Margarit’s passions, brings his friend and partner Carles Buxadé into the film. His publishers, Josep Lluch and Chus Visor, also feature.
