Overview

The history of La Jeunesse soccer club is intertwined with that of the industrial town of Esch-sur-Alzette. It was born in the heart of the Hiehl district, a working-class neighborhood on the outskirts of the factory, whose population was mainly made up of Italian immigrants, and was made up of players who were mainly iron workers or miners at the time. The stadium, built in 1920, is nestled behind the blast furnaces.
