This is Ivor Noel Hume's four-year archaeological discovery of Martin's Hundred Plantation, a seventeenth-century plantation that supplied many of the agricultural needs of colonial Williamsburg. Archaeologists excavated tens of thousands of whole and fragmentary objects, including the first-known physical evidence of the 1622 Indian uprising and pieces of armor never before found in America. See how these fragile items are lifted from the ground, restored, and interpreted in the laboratory.
